South St. Paul's Dave Palmquist, the last remaining coach from Minnesota's inaugural season of high school girls hockey in 1994-95, is among members of the first class of the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association's Hall of Fame.
The class, announced Tuesday, includes Chuck Scanlon, who coached Apple Valley in the first championship game against Palmquist and South St. Paul in 1995.
Scanlon, also a member of the Minnesota boys soccer coaches hall of fame, won state girls hockey championships in 1995 and '98. Palmquist has led the Packers to four state championships.
Others to be inducted Oct. 11 at the Schwan Center in Blaine are Tim Morris, Bob May, Jane Ring, Tom Maeckelbergh and, posthumously, Charlie Stryker and Brano Stankovsky.
