Girls hockey: Blake routs Warroad for 1A title

Warroad didn't see this coming.
The top-ranked Warriors were the offensive juggernaut, known for creating offense with ease and shutting down opponents with suffocating pressure.
Both assets took the day off Saturday, Feb. 23.
Blake seized both for itself and steamrolled the Warriors in a 7-2 victory in the Class A championship game of the Minnesota girls hockey tournament at the Xcel Energy Center.
"Are you kidding me?'' Warroad coach David Marvin said, incredulously. "They took us out behind the woodshed. I think that is the worst I've been beaten.''
