Wild announce eight finalists for capital

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild announced today the eight finalists for the Capital of the State of Hockey on www.wild.com. The winner of the Capital of the State of Hockey contest, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center, will be announced on April 10 when the Wild hosts the Dallas Stars. The winner of this year’s contest will face 2010 champion Roseau in the final round. Fans can see the full bracket and vote by clicking on the State of Hockey link on the home page of www.wild.com.
The first quarterfinal matchup is between Eveleth and Edina, and the voting begins today, Feb. 22. The next matchup features Duluth and International Falls, followed by Grand Rapids and White Bear Lake, and finally Warroad and Hibbing.
Final-round voting between the 2011 winner and 2010 champion Roseau will begin April 4 with the winner will be announced April 10. |
