Congratulations to our Hardware Hank “Nuts & Bolts” Athletes of the Week: Taylor Williams, junior, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted and Tayler Hill, senior, Minneapolis South girls’ basketball.



Name: Taylor Williams

Sport: Girls’ basketball

School: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted

Information: Taylor had a great week at the girls’ state basketball tournament.  She helped lead HLWW to a 2nd place finish with 7 points and 8 boards in the first two rounds and 12 points in the championship game in a four-point loss to undefeated Caledonia.  She is a big reason the Lakers came so close to the title!

Sport: Girls’ basketball

Year: Senior

School: Minneapolis South

Information: Tayler finished her high school career on Saturday night with one of the best performances in state hoops history, tying a state record with 47 points in the championship game win over Centennial.  She also hit a record 19 free throws.  Hill is the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota girls’ basketball history and arguably the best girls’ high school basketball player in our state’s history.
