Mounds View midfielder acts as team's 'center core'

Senior Allie Phillips' coach said he believes she could lead the team to its first state championship. Mounds View girls' soccer coach Sharon Swallen said she has a team capable of winning the first state championship in the history of the Mustangs program. Should it happen, there's no doubt in her mind who will lead the way: senior midfielder Allie Phillips.
Phillips, a three-time all-conference performer, ranks fourth in school history with 79 points (49 goals). Swallen, who also played at Mounds View, said Phillips is the best all-around player the program has ever had.
