Destined to dominate the game
By John Millea, Star Tribune
Tori Dixon had genetics on her side from the start. And she's worked hard on the rest to make it to the top. Two things stand out about Burnsville volleyball player Tori Dixon: her size and her name. She is 6-2, and genetics certainly play a part in that. Her dad, David Dixon, was an offensive lineman for the Vikings for 11 years, retiring after the 2004 season. With a father who stands 6-5 and a mother (Pamela) who is 5-9, it's no surprise that Tori is tall. But there's more to volleyball success than height. Dixon has worked at the game since fifth grade, and the high school junior has risen to the top ranks of the sport in Minnesota as well as nationally.
