The Story Line
Senior midfielder Jack Hewitt scored three times on just four shots on goal and added an assist to lead Eden Prairie to a 9-7 victory and a second opportunity to bring home the title trophy. Second-seeded Eastview trailed third-seeded Eden Prairie by four at the half, but narrowed the margin to just one goal after three quarters. Junior midfielder Benner Schleider had one goal and two assists, and senior attacker Dan Jones had two goals for the victorious Eagles. Senior goalkeeper Scott Swanson earned the win and made 17 saves. Rex Sanders, a sophomore midfielder, scored three times for the Lightning and junior attacker Andy Freeman added two goals and an assist.
