Information: Nate Schaefbauer started slow against a tough defense on Friday’s state quarterfinal against Wayzata. But he picked it up and led a game-winning drive that included a pair of fourth-down conversions. He was knocked down all night but he kept getting back up. Finally, Schaefbauer bought time and was able to squeeze a touchdown pass into Bronson Shepherd's arms on third down from the 12. The 13 points were the fourth most allowed by Wayzata in 12 games this season.

Information: The Sabers concluded the best season in team history by wining the Class 3A championship last week. Menden, a senior setter, ran the Sabers offense to perfection, contributing 118 set assists and 28 digs in three matches. This year she averaged 10.5 assists/game with just one error. She also added 2.1 digs/game.
