It was a slug fest as Osseo took on North St. Paul in boys' basketball Tuesday night at North High School. The Polars were holding strong early on, but with a few fouls, North had a 15-point deficit to make up at the half.
The pace of the game was intense as the Orioles went up and down the Polarís court, controlling most of the game. Osseo had superb shooting from forwards Jeff Branch, Julian Morris, Xavier Reed, and Darieon Smith. They also had some great defense including a few big blocks from Morris, Reed, and Billy Epps in the second half.
The deficit North had to make up just kept growing, but it appeared they might mount a comeback with a big three-pointer from Brady Hannigan and more great shooting from Nick Williams and Nate Krenzel. But the Polars got cold at the end, as Osseo sealed the deal in the second half with great defense and ball control.
The Polars will try rebound after this loss against Woodbury on December 9th at Stillwater High School. Osseo will head on the road, trying for 2-1 against a tough Anoka team on December 20th.
